I have been much busier than I expected lately. Right now i have two commercials on the air for a regional gasoline company, Kwik Fill. It's really amazing how people respond to seeing you on tv even when they see your mug everyday! We're rehearsing for Mama Songs and I'm getting press kits ready so I can book it at other venues and getting press kits ready for A Symphony Down In My Soul! Apparently we are in the process of booking Symphony at the Uptown Theatre here in Buffalo across from the University of Buffalo. The big news of the day is in two parts first I booked another commercial with my favorite Casting Director Dina BArone! Yeah! Thanks Dina. I just accepted a position with the Buffalo Ensemble Theatre to be their Director of Theatre Education! I'll be responsible for producing a minimum of two producions a year, inviting guest speakers to the schools we are working with, writing an organizing teaching guides for classroom teachers and budgets. Starting in March for Womens's History month our production company Down In My Soul Productions is mounting a trilogy of Ntoshake Shange's work. The first will be For Colored Girls... in March at 2 venues 2 weeks at the Niagara Falls Arts and Cultural Center and 2 weeks at the Lancaster Opera House. The Alafia Theater Comapny that I'm affiliated withis performing December 27th at the Paul Robeson Theater on Masten Avenue in Buffalo. And the Albright Knox Art Gallery on Elmwood in Buffalo. Friday December 30 @8pm It's a great time! I hope I get to see some folks out there! When will she find the time? I have no idea but I'm sure it will make my parents proud.
